Flava-malt™

We added a pound each of the Natural Ripe Raspberry and Chocolate Flava-malt at the end of fermentation and allowed it to condition for a week before racking to carbonation. The resulting beer has a pleasant fruit nose and a delicate chocolate covered raspberry flavor that lingers throughout the glass from sip to sip. The ease and flexibility of the product was enticing. The cost is a good trade off for lowered fruit additions with similar or better results in flavor and aroma. Flava-malt permeates through the whole beer unlike most post fermentation extracts and results in a full and natural blend in the beer. We have also used the Mango Flava-malt in a WCIPA that we racked off with some Mango puree to cask condition. Resulted in a huge Mango Punch and a great way to play with split batch brews! We have plans on using other Flavas in upcoming green tea pale ale, Hazy IPAs and kettle sours.”

“We used the mango flava-malt at a rate of 0.1lb/bbl. The result was a clean, clear mango blonde ale with tons of mango flavor. When we use this product again, we will probably dial it back a little as we tend to go fairly light with our fruited/flavored beers. A little bit goes a long way!”
